Atlanta’s very own Raphael Assuncao will be featured in the co-main event of Sunday nights WEC broadcast on Versus.

Following two impressive victories over Jameel Massouh and Yves Jaboiun, Raphael Assuncao is set to take on WEC poster boy Urijah Faber. A victory against Faber will catapult Assuncao into serious contention for a title shot in the stacked 145 lbs. division.

Training in the GeorgiaFighters.com Fans Choice Gym of the Year, Assension MMA, Raphael is has been fine tuning his skills under the supervision of his head trainer and brother Junior.

Faber on the other hand is making a comeback of sorts. Following his second defeat at the hands of Mike Brown last June, Faber severely hurt his hand and has been sidelined since. Looking to get back to the top of the featherweight division he is looking to use Assuncao as a springboard.
