Hunter Weeks, former co-host of Inside Punch on Comcast Ch.1 On-Demand and GM of X3 Sports Midtown will be on 790 The Zone tonight.

The all-sports station is staging a reality TV-like competition all month, inviting 20-somethings who are “college football fanatics” and “have an insane passion for sports and love to entertain” to participate. Hunter is one of the finalists and will be running through his on air audition with Steak Shapiro tonight at 7:40. Along with his passion for the local fight scene, Hunter is an absolute sports fanatic. His vibrant personality will be a breath of fresh air to the station.

The fight community is making an impact on new levels these days in Atlanta. Although Hunter’s focus on air will not be about the fight scene primarily, he is a huge supporter of it and “WHEN” he makes it as a regular on the station it will not be a simple after thought.

Kudos to 790 The Zone for recognizing that Atlanta has a huge combat sports community and recognizing the demand for coverage. In June 790 The Zone launched the first and only MMA and Boxing show, Counter Punch. The show features co-hosts David Oblas, Dymond Jones, and Jose Santiago as they talk about nothing but fights on Wednesday nights at 7pm.
