Hester: “…I will still be undefeated.”

On October 10th, Clint “The Head Bussa” Hester will be competing in the highly anticipated Red Line Grand Prix presented by Sin City Fight Club.

Hester propelled to the Georgia MMA spotlight following his demolition of highly touted Dymond Jones in May and is now scheduled to take on Aaron “TEX” Johnson in what many feel may take fight of the night honors. Hester scored his first MMA victory as the two combatants have met before in a bloody war which left both fighters swollen and Johnson spewing blood from a head gash.

Georgiafighters.com got a hold of Hester to chat it up about his current status.

GF: How are things going?

“Everything’s good.”

GF: You’re obviously training for the Gran Prix. How excited are you to be part of this event?

“I am very excited and honored to be selected to compete with this class of fighters.”

GF: You’ve really exploded onto the scene after defeating Dymond Jones. How has that big fight helped you prepare for this fight?

“It has helped me a lot. It showed me some things I needed to work on and almost pushed into the third round. So now I know, for sure, that I have the gas for a full MMA bout.”

GF: You’re fighting Tex for the second time. Your last fight was a barn burner where you both traded vicious shots. He’s really been chomping at the bit to get you back. What are your thoughts on your last fight?

“That was my first MMA fight ever, so I just did what I had been working on in the gym with Tony Tucci and the rest of the X3 Fight Team. I did get knocked down, but other than that, my training made the fight go in my favor.”

GF: How will this fight with Tex be different?

“The only difference will be that I expect this fight to be longer and more exciting.”

GF: You’re one of the few guys that goes back and forth from professional boxing and MMA. Do you plan to continue and compete in both?

“Oh yes. I love both and feel that I have the potential to make a name for myself in both boxing and MMA. I have a good team around me and my boxing is about to make a run around.”

GF: Give us a prediction on the fight with Tex:

“At the end of the night I will still be undefeated.”

GF: What about some of the other fights, do you have a prediction on those?

“I think that Lima, Allen, and Lockheart will all advance to the next round.”

GF: What are your thoughts regarding the recent increase in fights/promotions in Georgia recently?

“I think it is great for the fighters. We can stay busy and pick up a lot of experience in our backyard. Most of the matches are fair and so we are getting ready faster for the next level of competition. At least, for the few of us that make it to that level.”

GF: Thanks for taking time out for Georgiafighters.com

“Your welcome and thank you very much for this opportunity.”
