“Buck Nasty” continues to call-out the Lima Brothers
Posted by Jeff Chassner Senior Correspondent for GeorgiaFighters.com
Even if you are a casual fan of the local MMA scene in Georgia, you can’t help but have noticed that there has been a bit of a rivalry between fighters from North Carolina and Georgia. One fighter who isn’t afraid of speaking his mind and calling out opponents from Georgia is Johnny “Buck Nasty” Buck from Ashville, North Carolina.
“Buck Nasty” has had a few different feuds with Georgia pro athletes over the past couple of years inclusive of two victories over Sonny South, a TKO victory over Sean Kilgus and a submission victory over long time veteran and icon in the local MMA community George Allen. Not willing to be satisfied with his recent success in the cage against Georgia fighters, Johnny had a few words to say about local MMA stand-outs Douglas and Dhiego Lima.
I caught up with Johnny to follow-up with him about his recent comments and discuss the “art of the call-out”:
Georgiafighters.com: Buck Nasty! It’s been awhile since we have talked man, sure do appreciate the time! So a lot has gone on the past few months for you; bring the Georgiafighters.com readers up to date on what you have been up to.
“Buck Nasty”: I’ve opened up a new gym in Asheville with my coach Johnny Huskey and Blackeye Promotions owner Scott Crosby. It’s awesome, 4500 sq feet. Full- size competition cage, 2 grappling areas, cardio equipment, weights, big plasma TVs everywhere. All top notch stuff. All these new toys and still maintaining a full training schedule so I’ve been pretty busy.
Georgiafighters.com: You are the Black Eye Promotions middleweight champion and are on a pretty good run winning 6 of your last 8 fights and 4 of your last 5 with an impressive outing against UFC vet Luigi Fioravanti that you took on short notice and took to a decision; what do you credit your recent success to?
“Buck Nasty”: I’m actually the Blackeye Welterweight champ. This fight against Babcock is for the Middleweight Title. I’m kind of going for the Randy Couture thing Haha. Honestly I have turned the corner as a fighter. I live the professional lifestyle, not taking BS fights because of money and bad advice. Short notice fights, fighting out of my weight class and all that. That is what I finally get as being a professional. Full training camps for fights except you can’t turn a name down like Luigi (Fioravanti) even if it is 4 days notice.
Georgiafighters.com: Your overall record is 8 and 7. And you are scheduled to fight on June 17th in North Carolina but after watching the video of your interview from the last Black Eye Promotions event I am surprised of the opponent. You are fighting Danny Babcock (6-4) from Florida; don’t get me wrong the dude has fought some tough talent as his last two opponents had a combined record of 15 wins and two losses, but his last win came in 2009 versus a now 500 fighter. What do you know about Danny and how are you approaching this fight?
“Buck Nasty”: I was scheduled to fight Dhiego. He agreed to the fight, had the contract. (He) didn’t sign. Dunno what to say about that. Guess he wasn’t ready for that spanking… maybe Doug will offer up a distant cousin or something on the “Lima Ladder.” Babcock was a short notice fight for both of us. He fought Frank Trigg; Brunson is another tough opponent so I think it was a good choice. He’s fought tough guys and that’s what I’m looking for. I’m not looking to pad my record like a lot of people in the business. I respect Babcock for taking the tough fights and taking one with me on short notice. As for my approach for the fight for Babcock nothing has changed. Huskey looks at film; we develop the game plan, stick to it and get the hand raised at the end of the fight.
Georgiafighters.com: You have always been what some may call a “cocky” fighter and not afraid to speak your mind or call someone out. How would you describe yourself?
“Buck Nasty”: Every professional fighter is cocky. If you are not (cocky) then you are in the wrong sport. I believe 1000% I am going to walk in that ring and beat the piss outta everyone I fight in the first min. if not the first then the second; if not second the third. Eventually I am gonna get that ass. That is why I have NEVER had a boring fight; win lose or draw… well DQ… right Chism?
Georgiafighters.com: Let’s discuss the so called art of calling people out. Some fighters choose to be very respectful fighters and play the high road all the time, we have already established that you dot mind stepping up and calling out fighters. In old school wrestling terms you sort of play the “heel”, why does that work for and is that your intentions?
“Buck Nasty”: Let’s get one thing straight. I’m not the heel everywhere I go. I have fans in NC, TN, FL, and anywhere people like to see a good fight where the holding and cuddle sessions are frowned upon. It just so happens that I am the bad guy in GA and I don’t mind it but if you go back and look at EVERYONE of my fights in GA I have the fans on their feet cheering every single fight. The sport can’t be filled with a bunch of GSP’s. If that was the case it would be worse than watching golf. I’d like to spice things up. If that makes me the bad guy THEN SO BE IT!
Georgiafighters.com: At the Last Black Eye Promotions event, you called out two Georgia fighters in the Lima brothers. What prompted that decision?
“Buck Nasty”: I have been trying to fight the Lima Bros since I started fighting. They are the big names around, why would you not seek out the fighters with the names.
Georgiafighters.com: Doug was the MFC champion and has since been signed by Bellator. Doug is a seasoned fighter with a pro record of 17 and 4 and has beat some pretty well known fighters like Ryan Ford, Terry Martin and won the Grand Prix in Georgia at SportFightX by beating Eddie Hernandez, Clint Hester and Cortez Coleman. Out of all the 170/185 fighters out there, why are you calling out Doug?
“Buck Nasty”: Simply put. Styles make fights. My style beats his. Finesse and flashy doesn’t beat grit and grinding.and that’s what it’s about. My workmans style beats the Limas flash.
Georgiafighters.com: Douglas stated in the video that you should get more fights and alluded to the fact that you should fight better competition and said that you should fight his brother to get to him. I did a little research and the winning percentage of all of your pro opponents is 90 wins and 67 losses. That is a 57% winning percentage. Dhiego Lima’s opponents have a combined record of 12 and 4 or 75% winning percentage. Keon Caldwell with an 8 and 1 record is driving Dhiego’s winning percentage up; in fact if you backed out Keons record Limas other opponents hold a combined record of 4 wins and 3 losses or a winning percentage in line with yours. With all that being said, what makes you so confident you can “spank” Dhiego and eventually earn the opportunity to fight Douglas?
“Buck Nasty”: Listen. People don’t realize that win-loss records don’t mean anything. I could be 10-0 if I fought 10 turds you have to look at opponent records and all that. Diego Lima was something like 4-0 in 2010 and Douglas was 3-0. I went 6-2 with one loss being a split decision to 9 time UFC vet Luigi Fioravanti. I’ve got a very similar record for last year. My record and quality opponents put me right up there with the Lima’s 2010 and their spoon fed opponents. Not sure where tough opponents like Clint Hester and Eddie whoever stand but I think Luigi on 4 days is a pretty solid test…
Georgiafighters.com: I think we both agree that for you to fight either Lima you have some work ahead of you as Dhiego is under contract with the MFC and Douglas is under contract with Bellator. Assuming Doug is right and you need to increase the level of competition and get some more wins, you have anyone else you would like to issue a challenge to, maybe some of the Georgia fighters?
“Buck Nasty”: No, that’s obviously wrong. Check the video…Doug says I can fight his brother then him. If I say I’ll take a fight I take the fight. I don’t agree to money, weight date and get the contract and then not sign… maybe big brother shouldn’t have thrown baby brother under the bus. I’ve fought tougher competition than both of them. We will see once they can’t run and hide in Canada anymore.
Georgiafighters.com: Johnny I really appreciate the time and you telling the fans in Georgia more about yourself and providing more context to the video. As in any sport you always have to have the face and the heel so people get connected and that always makes for good entertainment. You are playing your role well and I respect you for the confidence you have in yourself. Do you have any closing comments or shout outs to any fans/sponsors?
“Buck Nasty”: Man it’s good to talk to you again. I’m just here to fight the best guys. If I have to get out there and piss someone off enough to make them take it out of irritation I’ll take it. To the fans I’m glad you love/hate me so much. I put on exciting fights whether you like the outcome or not. Thanks for being there. I’d like to thank Team Huskey, Blackeye Promotions and everyone who has supported me since the beginning and especially my parents. My dad for beating me up as a kid in the front yard with boxing gloves and telling me it’s not ok to cry or to give up and my mom for supporting me through the tough times and keeping my dad from killing me. Haha thanks again…
Keep checking back later this week for responses from the Lima brothers to the comments made by Johnny Buck.

Listen here little punk… Why dont you sign with Bellator or MFC if you wanna fight us so bad? Why didn’t you enter the SportFightX GP to fight me then? You knew I was in it… Why didn’t you ask for me right after I won the GP? Back then I wasn’t under under contract.. I think you calling us out now cuz you know we’re not able to fight.. You want a tough fight ask for Jucao.. He’ll gladly fight your ass.. If you think that’s too much wait for my brother to finish his contract then he’ll fight you pussy!
Your brother had the contract pre-bellator. Get me in Contact with the matchmakers. Sign
Me up. I’ll be glad to fight you or your brother on any promotion. Stop hiding behind “contracts”
Yours truly
Buck Nasty
XoXoXo
Now that’s funny…Why would anybody choose Bellator or MFC over fighting a joke like you? What would beating you do for our career? Wake up to life dog.. Get yourself a manager or something and try to get on a bigger show.. Get a name for yourself and stop wasting my time fag!
yea i had the contract in my hand and i also had mfc contract in my hand. lets take a look: should i fight a guy with a 8-8 record with no name for $700 or should i fight someone tuff on hd tv for $5000 plus sponsors wow so hard of a choice. so you wait until we are signed to call us out you said youve been wanting to fight us for the longest time then why did you wait to call us out. why dont you fight Jucao, hes a ufc vet and number one welterweight in Ga i thought you wanted to fight the best one in ga theres your chance. Johnny “Fuck” face it you suck!
I’d personally take the $5000 and sponsors over $700 and KO win over “Buck Naked.” I know there are several 170/185′ers in GA that would wipe the canvas with you “Buck Naked”. You sound more like a pro wrestler than a pro MMA fighter. If the man had two contracts and chose the better of the two, you’re a fool for thinking he made the wrong choice. You’d have done the same thing.
Buck, your not even in the same league … your biggest claim to fame is getting your ass kicked on short notice .. !
Feel lucky that Jucao would even waste a Friday/Saturday night to kick your ass …
If you want a chance at beating a LIMA … you should sit down with one of them in front of the TV, you can play UFC the game and you can try beating them that way … But in the real cage, not a chance …
No answer on the Jucao fight Buck boy? I thought you wanted a tough fight man come on…Let’s see if you got balls… test yourself.. ha
Interesting Interview Jeff but @ Johhny i couldnt disagree with you more how we conduct ourselves has everything to do with what this sport means, how people view us, and our pay, unless your in the UFC im sorry 3 grand a fight is no living for any of us maybe if we all showed a little professionalism we would be treated in as such and eventually get paid up there with every other professional sport. Dont get me wrong i like punching people too but you may need to re check your stance on how you approach interviews a few people can get away with this but most look like assholes especially if they arent the elite of the elite.
Im not saying any of us are perfect im certainly not i swear, drink, and im a little crazy too but i think this could have been gone about differently.all im sayin
I’ve got to say I am disappointed here. This is GEORGIAFIGHTERS.com and here is a story about some out of state chump calling out 2 of the state’s best. What does either Lima or Jucao have to gain by fighting this guy?
The real story in all of this nonsense is that Georgia’s own Dhiego Lima is fighting on the main card of a nationally televised promotion next Friday June 10th at MFC 30 at 10:00 pm and that his brother is taking part in Bellator’s upcoming welterweight tourney.
Where will you be Mr. Buck?
did he really sign his post “Buck Nasty”? LOL, douchebag
Eric:
I definitely see your perspective and I am working on an interview with Dhiego to talk about his upcoming fight next week. Dhiego should be and will be given the opportunity to address Johnnys comments. This is a good story and has obviously sparked some interest from the Georgia fan base…can’t wait for the interview of Dhiego to be posted…
Jeff
Buahahaha don’t pay this guy any attention. he’s a joke nobody has ever even heard of buck nasty LMAO either Lima brother would kill him. he just wants attention becuase he’s 8-8 and he doesn´t wanna go back to fixing cars, that guy looks like a mechanic not a fighter.
Obviosly you people have not read what Buck said in the Interview…he was abused by his father as a little child, so please don’t get mad with him, but let’s try and start a charity for him and get him the help he deserves. He’s only fighting to surpress his childhood memories of abuse.
But seriously Buck, if you miss that asswhopin ur dad gave you, Jucao will gladly do it and beat ur ass like ur dady did.
Stop talking so much shit
HAHAHA!! Not running your mouth anymore “Buck Nasty” (great name by the way)….Fight Jucao, step up big guy. Douglas & Dhiego would both crush you by the way. Keep talkin, its all your kinda good at
i was reading this article and came across my name. now did i not try to give you a rematch twice since you got dq’d? i believe you got sick or hurt both times
With a UD loss last night it looks like Mr. Buck will not need to be calling out any more Limas.
