On August 9th Georgia’s very own Brian Bowles will challenge one of the best pound for pound MMA fighters in the world for the WEC Bantamweight Championship in Las Vegas NV. Bowles who trains at the famous Hardcore Gym was originally scheduled to fight Miguel Torres on April 5th in Chicago, but do to a back injury he sustained in training was forced to pull out of his title shot. Torres went on to fight Takeya Mizugaki in an epic 5 round battle. Torres won by unanimous decision in front of his home town supporters.
True to their word, the powers that be in the WEC told Bowles to focus on recovering from his injury and he will get a shot at Torres. Bowles recovered, and is now set for the August 8th show down.
Bowles, a very soft spoken and timid person, has shown his ferocity in the cage. Undefeated as a professional, he is looking to stay that way with an upset victory over Torres. Is he ready? Can he beat Torres? Share your thoughts and comments with the GeorgiaFighters.com community!
